The women of Mandsaur have added sweetness to the metropolis, with the Maharana group becoming an example of self-employment.

  • The group created a model of self-reliance with the help of a ₹5 lakh loan from the Livelihood Mission, providing employment to 10 people.

Through the effective initiative of the Rural Livelihood Mission, the women of Pipaliya Karadia village in Mandsaur district have written an inspiring story of self-reliance. Today, the ‘Maharana Self-Help Group’ is not only strengthening its own economic position but also creating employment opportunities for others.

Under the Rural Livelihoods Mission, the group received financial assistance to grow, including a bank loan of 5 lakh rupees, a community investment fund of 1.5 lakh rupees, and a revolving amount of 10,000 rupees. This support provided the group with a crucial foundation to strengthen and expand its business.

The women in the group have become adept at creating natural and delicious juices and shakes. Their products, including lemon, cumin, ginger lemon, raw mango, and amla juices, as well as milkshakes, almond shakes, Rajbhog, and Shahi Gulab shakes, are proving very popular with customers.

With the guidance and support of the Aajeevika Mission, the group has grown from a local level to a national level. By participating in fairs held in major cities like Ujjain, Bhopal, Delhi, Noida, Surat, Baroda, Chandigarh, and Gurugram, the group has established a unique identity for its products.

Today, the Maharana Self-Help Group earns a net income of 25,000 to 30,000 rupees per month, bringing the annual income to approximately 300,000 rupees. This group is economically empowering its 10 women members and providing direct employment to 10 others.

This success story is a proof that the schemes of Rural Livelihood Mission are not limited to financial assistance only, but they are also providing new direction of confidence, skills and self-reliance to women.

Today, ‘Maharana Group’ has emerged as an inspiration for rural women, giving the message that with the right guidance and support of the government, no goal is impossible.
