Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that a strong infrastructure for health facilities has been developed in Rajnandgaon. The Assembly Speaker inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of various development works done at a cost of Rs 6 crore 42 lakh 70 thousand for strengthening the health infrastructure in the District Hospital Rajnandgaon. He inaugurated the plinth upgradation and height extension work of the District Hospital building constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore 56 lakh 70 thousand and performed Bhoomi Pujan of the new building construction work of the Chief Medical and Health Officer’s office to be built at a cost of Rs 2 crore 86 lakh.

Dr. Raman Singh stated that reducing infant and maternal mortality rates is one of the health department’s top priorities. Effective efforts are being made in this direction in Rajnandgaon district, yielding positive results. The district’s maternal mortality rate being lower than the state average is a welcome sign. He announced plans to repair the roof and improve the elevators at the district hospital, appoint two gynecologists from the District Mineral Fund (DMF), and ensure the availability of a dental X-ray machine and a separator. He also promised to provide other necessary facilities from the state budget.

Member of Parliament, Shri Santosh Pandey, said that the District Hospital has now been dedicated to the residents of the district with a new look and modern facilities. He commended the service spirit of the doctors and nursing staff, saying that the completion of necessary upgrades at the hospital will provide better healthcare to patients. He added that facilities at the District Hospital are being continuously expanded.

Presenting the district hospital’s report, Ms. Suruchi Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, said that high-risk pregnant women are being regularly monitored in the district, resulting in a significant reduction in maternal mortality.
