- Union Minister Shri Mandaviya wrote a letter to the Minister of State Smt. Gaur
Shri Krishna Gaur, Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge) has written to the Union Minister of Labor and Employment Shri Mansukh Mandaviya for the expansion of modern medical facilities in connection with the upgradation of the Employees State Insurance Corporation Hospital, Sonagiri, located in Govindpura Assembly Constituency. Minister of State Smt. Gaur has mentioned that this hospital is an important institution providing healthcare services to the workers and their families in the industrial areas of Bhopal, Mandideep, Satlapur and nearby. Currently around 6.5 lakh insured workers are affiliated with this hospital.
He mentioned in the letter that earlier this hospital was run by the State Employees Insurance Services under the Labor Department of the State Government, but on 22 June 2023, the Ministry of Labor, Government of India took over its management and is still under the control of the Ministry of Labour, Government of India. Therefore, to provide better healthcare facilities to the insured workers and their family members, it has been requested to upgrade it as a 300 bedded hospital, availability of modern medical equipment, adequate availability of specialist doctors and human resources and expansion of secondary and super specialty services.
