Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the Chhattisgarh government’s efforts to strengthen the rural economy, make women self-help groups self-reliant, and promote organic farming are continuously achieving new successes. In this series, organic products produced by women self-help groups and farmer producer organizations of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district under the National Rural Livelihood Mission-Bihan have established their unique identity in the country’s largest and prestigious organic industry trade fair and conference ‘Biofach India-2026’.
At this prestigious international trade fair and conference held in New Delhi, the district’s famous “Arpa Bihan Vishnubhog Rice” and “Natural Honey Collected from the Forests of Kevachi” were attractively displayed at the national stall. These products attracted special attention from buyers, exporters, industry experts, and representatives associated with organic products from India and abroad. This achievement has proved to be a door to new possibilities in the national and international markets not only for the organic products of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, but for the entire Chhattisgarh.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the state government is giving top priority to natural farming, organic agriculture, value addition of local products, and economic strengthening of women’s self-help groups in rural areas. As a result of this approach, the women associated with Bihan are not limited to production alone, but are also bringing glory to the state by successfully showcasing their products at national-level trade events. This is not only giving local products a new identity, but is also making significant progress towards increasing the income of rural women and providing them with a sustainable market.
Biofach India-2026 is a global platform promoting natural and organic products and the millet-based agricultural ecosystem. Importers, exporters, marketing experts, industry representatives, and trade organizations from India and abroad gather to discuss trade and investment opportunities in organic products. The effective presence of Chhattisgarh’s products on such a prestigious platform will pave the way for new business opportunities for the state’s farmers, women self-help groups, and farmer producer organizations.
District Mission Manager, Mr. Durgashankar Soni, stated that the production of organic Vishnubhog rice and natural honey, as well as yam, jackfruit, and other organic vegetables, is being continuously promoted in the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district. Due to the quality, natural production methods, and distinctive taste of these products, their demand in the national market is rapidly increasing. He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Vishnudev Sai, women self-help groups are empowering women economically and becoming self-reliant, while also taking the Lakhpati Didi Abhiyan to new heights. The participation of products on national and international platforms is boosting women’s self-confidence and providing them with better marketing opportunities.
