The Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar, Free Electricity Scheme, is becoming an effective means of financial relief and clean energy for the common citizens of the state. Under the scheme, rooftop solar panels are being installed on the rooftops of homes, enabling families to utilize solar energy for their electricity needs. This has resulted in a significant reduction in electricity bills and financial savings for many families. As part of the efforts towards good governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the Electricity Department is widely promoting the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. By informing citizens about the scheme’s process, benefits, and the importance of solar energy, more and more families are being encouraged to join it.
Under the scheme, solar panels installed on rooftops generate electricity from sunlight. After meeting domestic needs, excess electricity can be sent to the grid, reducing consumers’ electricity costs. Thus, the scheme provides financial relief to families while also contributing to environmental protection by promoting clean and green energy. Mr. Sandeep Kumar Gupta, a resident of Kunkuri in Jashpur district, described the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana as beneficial for his family, saying that previously, his household electricity bill was relatively high. After installing solar panels under the scheme, his electricity bill has significantly decreased despite regular electricity consumption. He explained that the use of solar energy has resulted in significant monthly savings, which has positively impacted his family’s budget.
Mr. Gupta said that the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana has brought great relief to ordinary citizens. It is not only reducing electricity costs but also providing an opportunity to adopt clean energy. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for this public welfare initiative. He appealed to the people of the state to take advantage of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana and adopt solar energy in their homes, saying that connecting more and more families to solar energy will not only save electricity but also strengthen environmental protection.
