- Governor Interacts with Tribal Companions, Associates and Villagers
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that public representatives and social workers should actively participate along with the government to ensure effective ground-level implementation of tribal welfare schemes. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, both the Central and State Governments are prioritizing the welfare of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) to connect tribal communities with the mainstream of development.
The Prime Minister has made a provision of ₹24,000 crore under the PM Janman Yojana to provide basic amenities such as pucca houses, roads, electricity, water supply, healthcare, schools, and Anganwadi centres in settlements of Baiga, Sahariya, and Bharia tribes.
Governor Shri Patel was addressing the rural dialogue program with tribal companions and associates at Sleemnabad in Katni district on Sunday under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan. He inaugurated an Adi Seva Kendra at village Hardua and administered polio drops to tribal children. The Governor also visited the house of PM Awas Yojana beneficiary Smt. Meera Bai in Hardua and interacted warmly with her family.
Governor Shri Patel informed that the Central Government has made a provision of ₹80,000 crore under the Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, which includes 25 focus points covering 18 departments. He said that the government is making every possible effort for the health and empowerment of deprived tribal communities. Along with informing the public about government schemes, people should also be made aware of the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures of diseases like Sickle Cell and Tuberculosis. He advised tribal families to match their Sickle Cell Genetic Cards before marriage. The Governor discussed in detail the benefits and facilities being provided under the PM Janman.
Yojana and Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan
He said that the Adi Seva Kendra acts as a bridge to deliver government schemes to the last mile. The centre will remain open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to listen to the grievances of the tribal community. Trained personnel at these centres will provide information about government schemes and help beneficiaries avail them. He added that women associated with self-help groups are now contributing to household income, and government schemes like Ladli Behna Yojana and Free Food Distribution Scheme are further supporting families. The Governor emphasized that children must receive an education, as the government provides support for studies from primary level up to higher education abroad. During the dialogue, Sickle Cell patients shared their experiences.
During his village visit, Governor Shri Patel garlanded the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Bhagwan Birsa Munda and distributed various welfare benefits. He provided nutrition kits to TB patients and distributed Ayushman Cards to beneficiaries. Under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, caste certificate distribution, and Rural Livelihood Mission, he presented cheques for loans and grants to Farmer Producer Self-Help Groups. The Governor also visited an exhibition organized on the occasion.
