Bhoramdev Jungle Safari becomes the new identity of eco-tourism in Chhattisgarh.

 Bhoramdev Jungle Safari offers a unique blend of tourism and environmental conservation in Chhattisgarh. Eco-tourism is a new initiative designed to connect people with nature without harming local biodiversity, with innovative models designed to attract tourists.

              Developed under the Chhattisgarh government’s eco-tourism initiative, Bhoramdev Jungle Safari has emerged as a new identity for Chhattisgarh’s eco-tourism in the very first month of its operation. The Jungle Safari has become a major center of attraction for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. More than 489 tourists have visited here in just one month, while local youth, forest management committee and self-help groups have got new employment and income opportunities. Bhoramdev Jungle Safari, a successful confluence of nature, adventure and local development, this initiative is not only establishing Bhoramdev among the major tourist destinations of the state but is also providing a new strength to the local economy.

  • Hundreds of tourists arrived in a month

         As per the wishes of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, this jungle safari which was started under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma and Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap has become a major centre of attraction. Forest Divisional Officer Shri Nikhil Agarwal told that Bhoramdev Jungle Safari was inaugurated on 3rd May and its operation was started for the tourists. In view of monsoon, the safari has been temporarily suspended from 4th June. During just one month of operation, more than 480 tourists enjoyed the jungle safari, from which an amount of more than Rs. 2.75 lakh has been received. Its operation will start again from the month of November after the rains. 

  • Local people got employment along with tourism

       The launch of Bhoramdev Jungle Safari has provided new employment and income opportunities to the local people. In just one month of operation, 17 local youth working as drivers, guides and gatekeepers earned an income of more than 75 thousand rupees. The Forest Management Committee earned 92 thousand rupees and the Forest Department earned more than 26 thousand rupees. The canteen run by a self-help group in the safari complex also remained a favorite among tourists. The canteen generated a profit of more than 20 thousand rupees in a month, which increased the income of the women of the group and strengthened them towards becoming self-reliant.

  • Not only the safari, the park also became the center of attraction.

       Along with the jungle safari, the Bhoramdev Natural Park is also becoming a favorite among tourists. In addition to the safari, over 1,500 people visited the park. This clearly indicates that the Bhoramdev area is gradually establishing itself as one of the state’s leading tourist destinations.

  • Exciting wildlife sightings add to the attraction.

       During the approximately 36-kilometer-long jungle safari, tourists had the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife and birds up close. Indian gaur, sloth bear, nilgai, sambar, barking deer, tiger pugmarks, wild fowl, various bird species, and colorful butterflies were special attractions for tourists. The dense forests, high hills, and natural beauty of the safari made the safari an exciting and memorable experience.

  • A new identity for eco-tourism

        Divisional Forest Officer Nikhil Agrawal stated that a 36-kilometer-long jungle safari route has been developed within the Bhoramdev Sanctuary, which covers approximately 352 square kilometers. The main entrance to the safari is located in the Kariaama area near the Bhoramdev Temple, where tourists begin their jungle journey. This safari provides tourists with an opportunity to experience Chhattisgarh’s rich forests, wildlife, biodiversity, and natural beauty up close. It also provides new employment and income opportunities for local residents.
