- Special HPV vaccination campaign for adolescent girls successful at Binta PHC
The Health and Family Welfare Department organized a special HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccination session for adolescent girls at the remote Primary Health Center, Binta, in the Lohandiguda development block of Bastar district. The campaign aims to protect girls aged 9 to 14 from serious cancers in the future.
District Immunization Officer Dr. C. Maitri conducted a surprise visit to the health center to review the campaign’s progress and arrangements. She inspected the vaccination process, provided necessary guidance to health workers, and interacted with the girls and their parents who had come to receive the vaccine, raising awareness and encouraging them.

Highlighting the importance of the HPV vaccine, Dr. Maitri said that this vaccine is a strong safeguard for a safe and healthy future for girls. She explained that timely vaccination significantly reduces the risk of serious diseases such as cervical cancer, breast cancer, uterine cancer, and oral cancer in women.
The Health Department has appealed to all parents in the area to ensure their daughters aged 9 to 14 receive this vaccine. The department clarified that this vaccine is completely safe, effective, and scientifically proven.
Local villagers, family members, field staff, and health center employees played a significant role in making this special vaccination campaign held at Binta PHC a success. Through collective efforts, an important step toward health awareness and the safety of daughters was successfully accomplished, even in remote areas.
