Farmers are becoming prosperous under the good governance of the Chief Minister

  • Fertilizers and seeds are available at affordable rates through cooperative societies in Jashpur.
  • Timely availability brings relief to farmers, reduces cost of cultivation

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, effective work is being done to provide fertilizers and seeds to farmers on time and at subsidized rates. In Jashpur district, through cooperative societies, farmers are being provided with fertilizers and agricultural materials at affordable rates, which has not only provided them financial relief but has also made farming easier. Fertilizer distribution work is being carried out smoothly in all the development blocks and gram panchayats of the district. Farmers are getting urea, DAP and other fertilizers daily from their nearest cooperative society at the prescribed rates. This means that farmers are not required to pay higher prices at private shops.

Farmers explained that previously, they had to visit different stores to purchase fertilizers and seeds, incurring high prices. Often, they had to borrow money on interest or take loans for farming. Now, thanks to government-managed fertilizers, available on time and at reasonable prices, their financial situation has improved and farming expenses have decreased. Manjula Bhagat, a woman farmer from Jashpur district, explained that previously, they faced considerable difficulty in obtaining fertilizers and urea, but now they can easily obtain all the necessary materials from the cooperative society at a low price. She said this has made farming easier and improved the family’s financial situation. Previously, they had to borrow money on interest for farming, but now that need no longer exists. Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, she said that this government initiative is providing real benefits to farmers.

The government is providing fertilizers to farmers at fixed rates. These include urea at Rs 266.50 per bag, DAP at Rs 1,350, super phosphate (powder) at Rs 551, super phosphate (granular) at Rs 591, zinc-containing super phosphate at Rs 576, TSP at Rs 1,300, NPK at Rs 1,850 and Rs 1,990, and potash at Rs 1,975 per bag. This provides farmers with quality agricultural inputs at reasonable prices, and agriculture is gaining new strength.
