More than 29,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer stored in the district so far ahead of the Kharif season.

In Kabirdham district, the government and administration are continuously taking effective action to ensure easy availability of fertilizers and seeds to the farmers. Regular storage, distribution and monitoring of fertilizers and seeds is continuously going on in the district. According to the information received from the Deputy Director of Agriculture, District Kabirdham, a total of 29,186 metric tons of fertilizers have been stored in the cooperative sector of the district so far. This includes 15,584 metric tons of urea, 2,995 metric tons of DAP, 1,765 metric tons of MOP, 4,320 metric tons of SSP and 4,520 metric tons of NPK. Apart from this, 2,720 metric tons of fertilizers are also safely available in double lock centers.

     To ensure timely fertilizer availability to farmers, 16,188 metric tons of fertilizer have been distributed through service cooperative societies. 9,287 metric tons of fertilizer have been stored in the private sector, against which 6,522 metric tons have been distributed to farmers. The administration is also continuously monitoring the fertilizer distribution system. In this regard, a flying squad inspected 128 sales centers in the district. Following irregularities discovered during the inspections, the licenses of two centers were suspended, and show-cause notices were issued to 31 agricultural centers. Strict instructions have been given to all sales centers to sell fertilizer at the prescribed price and in the appropriate quantity. Against the target of distributing 6,811 quintals of seed in the district, 3,100 quintals of seed have been stored so far, and farmers have also collected 350 quintals of seed. The Agriculture Department is continuously monitoring the storage and distribution process.
