 Notice issued to contractor on the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, who had expressed displeasure over the slow progress of work during inspection.

  • On June 6, Mr. Saw inspected the progress of the overbridge being constructed on the Kirandul-Visakhapatnam railway line and reprimanded the contractor and officials for the delay.

On the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Shri Arun Saw, the department has issued a notice to the contractor for the slow progress in the construction of a railway overbridge. During his visit to Bastar on June 6th, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw inspected the four-lane railway overbridge being constructed over the Kirandul-Visakhapatnam railway line on the Keshlur-Jagdalpur route on National Highway-30. During the inspection, he reprimanded the contractor and officials for the delay and delay in the work. Expressing deep displeasure over the lack of expected progress in the work as per the contract, he directed the contractor to be issued a notice. This railway overbridge is being constructed near Keshlur in Bastar district at a cost of Rs 69 crore 36 lakh.

The Chief Engineer of the National Highway Division of the Public Works Department, in a notice issued to the construction agency, M/s Ashok Kumar Mittal, stated that despite the site being available, the construction timelines for different phases could not be achieved due to poor arrangements for manpower, material and machinery. The progress of work at the site is far behind the approved construction schedule and is not in accordance with the milestones. Despite the department continuously reviewing the progress and issuing repeated instructions and notices to expedite the work, the pace of work remains unsatisfactory.

In a notice issued to the contractor, the department stated that during a site inspection on June 6th, the Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister expressed serious concern over the extremely slow progress of the work. They directed immediate action against the contractor in accordance with the contract provisions. Following the Deputy Chief Minister’s instructions, the Chief Engineer issued a notice to the contractor, directing him to immediately mobilize adequate manpower, machinery, materials, and other necessary resources to expedite the work and take all necessary measures to achieve the set targets for timely completion of the project. If significant improvement is not observed in the progress of the work, the department will take strict action under the contract provisions.
