  • Awareness seminar in Balrampur gave the message of a healthy, sensitive and strong society.

An important topic like menstruation, long shrouded in silence and hesitation, is now being openly discussed. The Menstrual Hygiene and Management Awareness Seminar held in Balrampur district not only provided scientific information to students but also fostered a sensitive and positive social mindset.

In this program organized at Government College Balrampur under the direction of Collector Mrs. Chandan Sanjay Tripathi and guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, with the joint efforts of Health and Family Welfare Department and Bharat Scouts and Guides District Branch, the youth were made aware about the myths and misconceptions related to menstruation.

The most special feature of the program was that the students openly discussed topics like menstruation without hesitation.
Experts explained in simple and straightforward language that menstruation is a natural process, requiring awareness and understanding, not shame or fear. During this program, the curiosity of adolescent girls was addressed, and the message to young people was conveyed that sensitive thinking and mutual respect are essential for building a healthy society.

The seminar, which conveyed the message of “Aware Daughter, Healthy Daughter, Empowered Society, Prosperous India,” emphasized the need for menstrual education, a period-friendly environment, access to sanitary products, and respectful facilities. Experts stated that openly discussing menstruation is not just a women’s issue, but a responsibility of the entire society.

The program also provided detailed information on topics such as adolescent health, nutrition, mental health, self-confidence, and personal hygiene. It also appealed for equal participation and cooperation from both boys and girls, and conveyed the message of developing social sensitivity.
This awareness seminar was not just a health education program, but also an inspiring initiative to change social thinking, awaken youth power, and respectful dialogue.
