Chief Minister Dr. Yadav started the day with yoga in Kukru
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav made several important announcements in the direction of developing Kukru, a hill station of Baitul district, as a major tourist destination of the region. He said that for tourism development in Kukru, an integrated tourism circuit connecting Kukru, Chikhaldara, Muktagiri and Melghat will be developed at a cost of Rs 15 crore. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said this on Sunday during a visit to Kukur, a tourist spot in Baitul.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav began the day on Sunday by practicing yoga in the rest house area of Kukuru, a famous hill station in Baitul district. He did yoga and gave a message to the people of the region to include yoga in their daily lifestyle. In the yoga session organized among natural practitioners, the Chief Minister inspired everyone towards regular yoga by doing various yoga postures like a yoga practitioner.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also performed other asanas including Mayurasana, Tophasana with ease and skill during yoga practice. He practiced many yoga poses including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhadrasana, Vakrasana, Bhujangasana and Shalabhasana with the local villagers. Along with this Nadi Sodhan, Tili and Bhramari Pranayama were also done. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav launched the Kukur Se Pulse Polio campaign and administered polio medicine to children. Also saw the presentation of the action plan for tourism development in Kukru.
- Eco tourism, sunrise-sunset point and tourism facilities will be developed
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that eco-tourism, sunrise and sunset points and other major sightseeing spots will be developed in Kukru. Eco resort with modern facilities and other tourism infrastructure will be developed here keeping in mind the facilities of the tourists. Along with this, various adventure sports and exciting activities including trekking will be started. He said that further increase in the budget will also be done for the development of Kukuru tourism if required.
- Banenge Homestay for tribal groups, MP Tourism will make bookings

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that homestays will be developed in Kukru to connect local tribal rural groups with tourism activities. These homestays will be operated on the lines of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPT) hotels and their booking will be done by Madhya Pradesh Tourism. This will provide new opportunities for employment and self-employment to local people.
- Local products will be marketed under ‘Kukru Natural’
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Kukru is famous for its excellent coffee as well as millet kutki, amla, honey, harra, baheda, safed muesli, bhilwa and other natural products. To promote these products, units named “Kukru Nature” will be established in collaboration with women’s self-help groups and the Forest Department. Also, outlets will be established in cities by the Forest Department to market these products.
- Sales centers for milk products will be established
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in view of the huge potential of milk production in Kukru area, sales centers for rabri, mawa, curd and other dairy products will also be established by the forest department. He said that training in tourist guide, driving and hotel management will be provided through the National Skill Development Corporation to connect the local youth with tourism related employment. Apart from this, a project will be established at a cost of one crore rupees for growing, cultivation and processing production of Robusta and Arabica coffee in Kukru. Coffee Board and Forest Department will also provide technical assistance to the villagers for coffee production.
- Animal husbandry and water conservation will also get a boost

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that an action plan will also be prepared to provide improved breeds of cattle to the cattle rearers in village Kukru and to construct animal sheds. Along with this, a pond will be constructed at a cost of 5 crore rupees to provide a permanent solution to the water problem in the area and to speed up tourism development. Similarly, a survey will be conducted for the construction of a pond in village Kasai. There will be expansion of roads, roads and basic infrastructure in the area.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced several infrastructure works for overall development of the area on the demand of local villagers. These include the establishment of a wellness center under the AYUSH department, construction of a road at a cost of Rs 70 lakh in village Jamukheda, construction of a culvert at a cost of Rs 40 lakh in village Lokaldari, construction of a road from village Kasai to Bhodiakund at a cost of Rs 85 lakh, construction of a road from village Kasai Fata to Bhodiakund at a cost of Rs 65 lakh and road construction from Jamukheda to Imlidhana at a cost of Rs 65 lakh. Apart from this, a girls’ hostel will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.20 crore in village Khamla and a government fair value shop will be constructed at a cost of Rs 25 lakh in village Kasai. A detailed survey will also be conducted regarding other development possibilities.
- Chief Minister Dr. Yadav plowed the farm with cows, encouraged the farmers
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav introduced intimate connection with rural life and agricultural culture in the famous hill station of Kukru. The Chief Minister reached the farm of Kisan Sahadev Gayi, plowed on his own and encouraged the farmers by planting maize. On this occasion Chief Minister Dr. Mr. Sahadev Gayani, a farmer, told Yadav that he has about 5 acres of agricultural land, in which maize is currently being planted. The Chief Minister showed interest in agricultural work while taking information about farming and also interacted intimately with the farmers. During this time, he also took information regarding Kharif sowing and produce sales.

- Intimate communication with villagers

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted with the villagers at the Jan Samvad program organized in Kukru. During this, he appreciated the work being done by self help groups and women and encouraged them to move towards self-reliance. Mrs. Neeta Dhadse, a member of Lakshmi self-help group, said that she has been promoting organic farming by working as a Krishi Sakhi, which has improved her economic status. Expressing his gratitude to the Chief Minister, he said that with the loan assistance received through the Livelihood Mission, they are becoming self-reliant through various activities. Mrs. Maina Damje, a member of the group, said that earlier she used to make mawa and rubber on a small scale, but after joining the self-help group, her income has grown. Smt. Archana Vinod, a member of Khamla Self Help Group, said that through CLF, her group has received a loan of Rs.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was informed about his experience of three years in the field of natural farming and the benefits derived from it by Mr. Sesha Rao Barsakar, a villager. Chief Minister Dr. Appreciating their efforts, Yadav urged all the villagers to adopt natural farming and take inspiration from them. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also gave necessary instructions to the officials of the forest department to solve the forest related problems of the villagers.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the villagers that Kukru and its surrounding area is a forest area, where there is immense potential for coffee production. He said to increase income by planting coffee plants along with fruit trees like us. Also emphasized on the possibilities of animal husbandry and production of dairy products. He said that home-stays will be developed in the area to promote tourism, which will provide employment opportunities to local people and also promote tourism activities. While giving information about Acharya Vidyasagar Yojana to the villagers, it was said that under this scheme, bank loans of up to 10 lakh rupees are provided to the cattle rearers for dairy business. Along with this 33 percent subsidy and 5 percent interest reimbursement on bank loans is also done by the government.
- Release of ‘Baitul Darshan’ booklet

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released a booklet ‘Beitul Darshan’ focusing on Baitul tourism at the event. Information about major tourist, religious, natural and cultural places of the district has been compiled in this booklet. This booklet will play an important role in acquainting tourists with the rich tourism heritage of Betul.
- Helmets distributed to women and citizens by self-help groups
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav distributed helmets to women and citizens of self-help groups during the public interaction program. He presented helmets to Mrs. Vandana Save, Mrs. Savita Athole, Mrs. Santoshi Belkar, Mr. Dharmendra Save, Mr. Saibu Athole and Mr. Ashok Betkar.

- Connect local farmers with coffee production

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inspected the coffee plantation at Kukru. During this time, he got information about the history of the coffee plantation, the geological conditions and the natural environment available here. He said that coffee production can become a powerful means of increasing the income of the villagers.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav discussed coffee processing, marketing and the prospects of expansion of coffee production in the area by discussing with the representatives of L-Von Company, which is working on coffee processing. It is noteworthy that a coffee plantation was established in Kukru in the year 1944 by British woman Florence Hendricks. This coffee plantation is spread over an area of about 40 hectares and is currently recognized as an important natural and agricultural heritage of the area.
