Big success of Narsinghpur Police

  • 250-year-old rare idols stolen from Jain temples, recovered safely 5 -member gang of thieves arrested, stolen silver umbrellas, tiaras and other items seized

Narsinghpur Police has successfully busted a five-member gang of vicious thieves after uncovering incidents of theft in Jain temples, presenting an excellent example of Madhya Pradesh Police’s commitment to sensitive cases related to religious beliefs and cultural heritage. The police have recovered from the possession of the accused two rare 250-year-old Ashtadu images, 17 silver umbrellas, two silver seats, one silver crown, four batteries, three inverters, two refrigerators, four LED TVs, two DVRs, two fans, two motorcycles used in the incident and cash. The safe recovery of these religiously and historically important relics reflects the sensitive, professional and effective working style of the police.

During the last two to three months in Narsinghpur, there were incidents of theft at villages Ramniwari, Tendukheda and Jain temples at Karakbel among other places. Superintendent of Police Dr. taking these incidents related to religious places seriously. Three special teams were formed by Rishikesh Meena. The teams were given necessary directions for early identification and arrest of the unknown accused. As a result of coordinated efforts of police officers and employees, technical vigilance, continuous monitoring and scientific analysis, the successful disclosure of this sensitive case was possible.

All these aspects were investigated with meticulousness and seriousness by the police from the beginning. Scientific evidence was collected by close inspection of the crime scenes and technical information, informant techniques and other available information were intensively analyzed.

During the investigation, the police team also made a detailed study of the pattern of theft incidents in the past. A comparative analysis of the time, location, manner of occurrence and suspicious activities yielded important clues. In this sequence, when the suspicious activities of surveillance rogue Tikku alias Teksingh Ladia came to light, he was investigated intensively. On being questioned on the basis of technical evidence and other facts, he accepted to carry out the thefts along with his accomplices.

The police have arrested Tikku alias Takesingh Ladia along with Gyani Prajapati, Ashish Sharma, Nitin Sharma and Chintu alias Mukesh Soni who bought the stolen goods. In the interrogation, the accused have admitted to causing a total of five theft incidents in different areas of the district including Karkabel Jain temple, Ramniwari Jain temple, Tendukheda Jain temple.
