Echo of good governance: Crowds from 17 villages gathered at the Kachana mega-camp.

  • 165 public problems resolved on the spot

“Good Governance Festival 2026,” launched to bring the Chhattisgarh government’s welfare policies to the doorsteps of the common people and directly address their problems, has now become a major groundbreaking initiative. In this context, a unique confluence of hope and solutions was witnessed at the cluster-level resolution camp held in Kachana Gram Panchayat, Kurud Development Block, Dhamtari district. The camp resolved 165 cases on the spot (161 demands and 4 complaints), providing immediate relief to the villagers.

In this mega camp, such a huge influx of villagers from Kachana and surrounding 17 Gram Panchayats (Silidih, Silatra, Navagaon (A), G Jamgaon, Anwari, Ganeshpur, Madeli, Bhainsbod, Jarwaydih, Koliari, Joratarai (A), Thuha, Navagaon (Thu), Sirve, Kumhari and Bhendsar) gathered, which made this campaign of the government a complete success.

Century of applications, immediate action on problems

The grandeur of the camp and the public’s trust can be gauged from the fact that a total of 819 applications were received. Of these, 812 were related to various development projects and demands, while 7 were filed as complaints. The administration, too, displayed promptness, settling 165 cases on the spot (161 demands and 4 complaints), providing immediate relief to the villagers. A deadline has been set for the remaining applications, and prompt action has been assured.

Work done by the collaboration of public representatives and officers

To encourage the villagers and hear their problems directly, several prominent public representatives from the area participated in this camp. The Vice President of the District Panchayat, the Chairman, and the President of the District Panchayat Kurud were special attendees. A large number of Sarpanchs, Secretaries, and Panchayat members were also present.

When faces blossomed: hand-distributed belts, cards and kits

The most beautiful aspect of this camp was when eligible beneficiaries were handed over their entitlement materials and certificates. When work that had been pending for years was completed in a matter of minutes, villagers’ faces lit up with joy. The Revenue Department, fulfilling their dream of owning land and housing, handed over “Aabadi Patta” (land ownership) to villagers. Laborers were provided with “Organized Labor Cards,” providing social security. Similarly, the Health Department provided free spectacles and “Ayushman Cards,” guaranteeing free treatment for the elderly. The Women and Child Development Department distributed certificates for “Nutritional Food” for infants and “Noni Suraksha Yojana” for the empowerment of daughters. The Social Welfare Department also distributed “Crutches” and “Nutrition Kits” to strengthen the disabled and the elderly.

This cluster camp in Kachana exemplified the true definition of good governance, where the government itself walks to the doorsteps of the people. The smiles this “Good Governance Festival” has brought to the faces of the villagers will resonate for a long time.
