Kharif Season 2026: Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap reviews

  • Target of agricultural loan of Rs 8800 croreEnsure there is no shortage of fertilizers and seeds in the societies, supply should be as per the demand of the farmers.

Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap held a high-level review meeting at his residence in Naya Raipur today to ensure uninterrupted availability of fertilizers, seeds, and loans to state farmers in view of the 2026 Kharif season. He strictly instructed officials to ensure timely availability of fertilizers and certified seeds to PACS committees as per the farmers’ demand.

  • Status of agricultural loans and fertilizer storage

For the current season, a target of ₹8,800 crore has been set for agricultural loan distribution, against which ₹741 crore has been distributed so far. Against the target of 10 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer distribution, 5.42 lakh metric tonnes (54%) have been stored so far. Currently, urea (2.56 lakh tonnes), DAP (67 thousand tonnes), NPK (1.01 lakh tonnes), potash (39 thousand tonnes) and SSP (78 thousand tonnes) are available in the committees.

Emphasis on alternative fertilizers


In view of the possible global shortage of DAP, Minister Kashyap directed the officials to maintain adequate stock of alternative fertilizers and encourage farmers to use them.

  • Supply of certified seeds

The meeting was informed that there is a demand for 4.95 lakh quintals of seed for this season. So far, 81,640 quintals of certified seed has been stored. Minister Mr. Kashyap directed the Seed Corporation to ensure the remaining supply to the committees as soon as possible. Cooperative Secretary Dr. C.R. Prasanna, Markfed MD Mr. Jitendra Shukla, Seed Corporation MD Mr. Ajay Agarwal, Apex Bank MD Mr. K.N. Kande, along with senior officials from the Agriculture and Cooperative Departments and CEOs of District Cooperative Central Banks were present at the review meeting.
