Public service is the highest objective of administrative service: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai

Three trainee officers of the Indian Administrative Service, undergoing training at the Chhattisgarh Academy of Administration, Nimora, paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence office in the capital Raipur today and received his guidance. 

Chief Minister Shri Sai, while congratulating and wishing the trainee officers for their success, said that administrative service is the most effective medium of public service and your role as an administrative officer is extremely important. He said that the decisions of an administrative officer affect the lives of thousands of people, therefore public interest should be paramount in every decision. The Chief Minister urged the officers to discharge their duties with sensitivity, impartiality, and dedication, and to reach out to the people and understand their problems. 

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the knowledge acquired during education and training has real significance only when it is used to bring positive changes in the society and the lives of the common people.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Chhattisgarh is a state full of potential. Its people are simple, easygoing, hardworking, and friendly. He briefed the officials on the state’s social and economic conditions, its rapidly developing connectivity, tourism potential, the success of Naxal eradication, and the state’s development journey. He also shared his experiences on Chhattisgarh’s cultural diversity, tribal traditions, and new development opportunities.

The Chief Minister told the trainee officers that every decision taken with honesty, integrity and public interest plays an important role in the development of the state and society.

The trainee officers informed the Chief Minister that during their training, they had the opportunity to visit Sukma and Bijapur districts of Bastar Division, and Jashpur, Surguja, and Korea districts of Surguja Division. During this time, they studied local life, culture, development activities, and administrative systems, and also visited the Mother Danteshwari Shrine.

Sharing their experiences, the officers said that Chhattisgarh is a state rich in diversity, cultural richness, and warmth. They were deeply impressed by the affection of its people, tribal traditions, and the potential for positive change in society. They said that serving the public interest through administrative service is both an honor and a responsibility.

During the meeting, the trainee officers shared their experiences, challenges, and inspirational stories related to their preparation for the administrative service. Referring to his own experiences in public life and public service, the Chief Minister encouraged them to continue learning, stay connected to the grassroots, and work with a humanitarian approach.

It is noteworthy that Indian Administrative Service trainee officers Mr. Gokul R.K., Mr. V. Yashwant Nayak, and Mr. Ishant Jaiswal are currently undergoing training at the Chhattisgarh Academy of Administration, Nimora. All three officers have been assigned to the Chhattisgarh cadre. Before departing for district training, they met with the Chief Minister and received his guidance.

On this occasion, Director General and Additional Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Academy of Administration, Mr. Subrata Sahu, Director Mr. T.C. Mahawar and Joint Director Mr. Pranav Singh were present.
