- Reorganize the culture department, expand the activities,
build a separate academy in the name of Emperor Vikramaditya

. Yadav gave a thorough review of the Department of Culture
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that in the next six to seven months there will be big festivals, cultural festivals and fairs. All these festivals symbolize our religious beliefs and our gratitude towards nature. On all these occasions, the Culture Department organizes a grand event involving all the communities, their faiths and cultural traditions. Alha-udal is the epitome of Veer Ras Gayan, should be organized in his memory. Also celebrate Shravan festival and Bhujria festival. On Nag Panchami, the message of Biodiversity Conservation (Protection of snake species) should be given. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that culture department should involve people and organize in such a way that the message of the government is also spread along with the conservation of our art and culture.
The Chief Minister was addressing a review meeting of the schemes and activities conducted under the Department of Culture in the Ministry on Monday. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the art, culture, traditions and rich archaeological heritage of Madhya Pradesh are the priceless capital of the region, which is the responsibility of all of us to protect and promote. He directed the officials to make systematic and effective efforts to establish the cultural identity of the region at the national and international level. Dr. Yadav said that our government is making every necessary effort for the cultural development of the region. We are moving forward in this direction with the support of the society. Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Religious Trusts (Independent Charge) Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi was also present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released the ‘Kala Panchang’ prepared by the Culture Department for the financial year 2026-27. In this, the department has prepared a complete calendar of artistic and cultural activities throughout the year. Now these will be implemented sequentially.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the scope of religious and cultural activities in the region will increase rapidly in future. A better restructuring of the Department of Culture should be carried out with appropriate combination of departmental internal characteristics and specialisations. Departmental activities should also be expanded in modern contexts. He said that the Department of Culture, Tourism, Religious Trusts and Cottage and Village Industries should all work together so that religious and spiritual tourism can be promoted in the region. It will also give recognition to craft items, handloom items and embroidery produced with excellent craftsmanship in the region.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a separate academy should be formed in the name of Samrat Veer Vikramaditya. In this comprehensive research on the biography of Vikramaditya and other relevant activities should also be conducted.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that apart from famous temples and god places outside the state, 2 Jyotirlingas, Jagartu and Manshapurna Shakti Peethas and other religious places in the state should also be included in the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav specially reviewed the progress of Shri Ram Van Gaman Path and Shri Krishna Pathey projects and directed the officials to speed up their construction works. He said that both the said projects are very important from the point of view of cultural and tourism development of the region along with being centers of religious faith. The early completion of their work will give a new direction to religious tourism in the region.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also emphasized on increasing public participation in cultural activities. He said that more and more people should be included in the cultural programs organized in the villages, towns and cities of the region, so that the new generation can get acquainted with its rich art and cultural heritage.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the progress of various schemes, conservation works and upcoming cultural events of the Culture Department. He emphasized on making concerted efforts to further strengthen the cultural identity of the region.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav received information that Jagdishpur near Bhopal was flooded. He said that a state cabinet meeting will be held here soon to revive the history of this fort and give it national recognition.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the information of singers, artists and other people who were born in Madhya Pradesh and who have demonstrated their talent should be collected and persuaded to perform in Madhya Pradesh. This will give new recognition and exposure to the art and cultural diversity of Madhya Pradesh in the country and the world and such artists will also be happy to connect with their soil.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Department of Culture should also recommend on its behalf the proposals to be sent to the central government by artists, social workers, environmentalists of the region for Padma awards. He said that a permanent scheme should be prepared for the financial assistance of all the Padma awardees of the region, so that the needy can be given financial support under the scheme of the government.
Additional Chief Secretary Culture Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that currently 17 religious/cultural centers and 20 museums are being constructed in the state. He said that from the year 2023 till now, works on construction works worth about 4160 crore rupees are going on under the Department of Culture. Some work has also been completed. The public offering will also be done soon. 160 crores worth of work is going on in the state for the construction of Shri Ram Forest Walkway. The work of installing the idol in Sri Mahakal Lok is in progress. In Orchha, Bhagwan Shri Ram Raja Lok is being prepared in a completely new form (on six new themes). Permanent management is also being done for the regular operation of all the people of the region. Necessary arrangements are also being made for the smooth functioning of all the music colleges of the region and the International University of Buddhist Indian Studies at Sanchi. He informed that degree courses are being run by the department in Natya Vidyalaya of Madhya Pradesh. This school is so famous that now officials of National School of Drama are visiting and getting information about the facilities and courses available here. He said that continuous coordination is being done with the Uttar Pradesh government for the overall development of Chitrakoot.
Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Mr. Manish Rastogi, Commissioner Archeology Mr. Madan Nagargoje, Director, Culture Mr. NP Namdev and other departmental officials were also present in the meeting.
